Raccoons
are nocturnal, so you wont hear or see much from them
during the day. Raccoon waste can carry roundworm. Two
other illnesses spread by raccoons are canine distemper
and rabies.
Little
critters can get a ride on raccoons back and the closer
you are to a raccoon the more chance you have to contact
mites, ticks, fleas, lice, conenose bugs and other
nibbling insects. If a raccoon gets cozy in your home it
can make a mess and cause a lot of damage that can cost
